Responsibilities Our digital newsroom is looking for a Front End Designer and Developer to create beautiful, engaging and interactive experiences to tell stories. If you love storytelling, design, UI/UX, typography, and being part of a team of creative writers, designers, developers, social media and multimedia producers, you’ll love being part of our team.

It is critical that you have excellent taste and a creative mind that never stops coming up with new ideas—and never runs out of energy to execute them. We believe inspiration can come from anywhere and experimenting with new ideas is a good thing.

You must be well-versed in the latest in web design trends and tools for all devices and platforms (including social media) and have experience in working with media rich content. You have to be able to maintain consistency for the brand. It is a huge plus if you are skilled at HTML, CSS3, PHP (WordPress in particular), JavaScript (with or without JQuery) and know what great digital storytelling is, and know how UI/UX best practices can take great design to the next level. We value experience in creating responsive designs for all devices, user interfaces, landing pages, emails, etc.

You have to be super-comfortable with design tools like Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator, Fireworks, InVision, Balsamiq (to name a few) as well as Style Guides and Typography.

Qualifications Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3-5 years of experience in web design

• Experience with interactive web design

Great if you also have:

Responsibilities We are happy to invite applications and nominations for an open rank position in cyber security.

We aims to lead in education and research that advance an understanding of security, resilience and sustainability issues and in the development of innovative solutions. This interdisciplinary hiring initiative addresses policy relevant issues such as government sponsored hacking, non state actors involved in data theft, cyber conflict, human factors in cyber security, and the regulation of privacy.

Our existing expertise contributes to pioneering research in the emerging fields of physical, social, and infrastructure resilience through the Security Systems Lab, the Network and Distributed Systems Security Laboratory, the Center for Resilience Studies, the Resilient Cities Laboratory, the Research Institute for Homeland Security, and the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Policy. It includes the intersection of policy and design in advancing secure and resilient critical infrastructure and communities in the face of human-made and naturally-occurring disasters.

Applications are invited from any discipline that contributes to the issues of cyber security, cyber crime, data privacy and their overlap.

Qualifications Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent terminal degree at the beginning of the appointment and a record of scholarship and teaching commensurate with rank. Successful applicants will have the abilities to initiate and lead major funded research projects, to promote innovation in teaching, and to engage with practitioners in the public, private and non-profit sectors. Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a our education.

3. Advancement Technology Specialist

Responsibilities The Advancement Technology Specialist is a member of our Advancement department. S/he with be tasked with enhancing the use of various channels to communicate with, and receive financial and/or volunteer support from, our constituents. Examples of channels include calling, emailing, web-based, mobile-apps, texting, swiping, and crowdfunding. Duties that will contribute to enhancing the use of various channels include, but are not limited to: being a liaison to third party payment processors, software vendors, Information Technology Services, Treasury, Finance and Advancement Information Systems; mastering both front-end and back-end knowledge; documenting processes; troubleshooting issues; system testing; security monitoring; cross-training; staying current in the technical field; collaborating on cross-functional projects; and creating and carrying out continuity plans. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Advancement Services, the Advancement Technology Specialist will be expected to implement robust systems and escalate security and technical concerns to the appropriate parties without delay.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree required
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Specialization in a technical field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or related fields required.
